Tottenham back to winning ways against Chelsea

Ziyech red card withdrawn, Skipp and Kane score in 2-0 victory

Spurs end eight-game winless run against Blues

Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Oliver Skipp opened the scoring for Spurs in the 47th minute with a low drive from the edge of the box. Harry Kane doubled the lead in the 83rd minute with a penalty after Chelsea defender Hakim Ziyech was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The win was Tottenham's first in the Premier League since October 29 and ended an eight-game winless run against Chelsea.

The victory also moved Spurs up to fourth in the table, two points behind Chelsea in third.

Ziyech was dismissed in the 89th minute for a foul on Heung-min Son. The Moroccan had been booked earlier in the match for a challenge on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was pleased with his team's performance.

"We played a great game," Conte said. "We created many chances and we deserved to win. I'm very happy with the performance of my players."

Chelsea manager Graham Potter was disappointed with his team's performance.

"We didn't play well enough," Potter said. "We made too many mistakes and we were punished. We need to improve our performance levels if we want to challenge for the title."
