TOKYO, Japan (July 31, 2021) - Team USA's Caeleb Dressel showcased his dominance in the pool once again, capturing his third gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics with a world-record performance in the 100-meter butterfly.

Dressel stormed to victory in a blistering 49.45 seconds on Saturday, shaving 0.39 seconds off his previous world record set in 2019. The American swimmer led the race from start to finish, leaving his rivals in his wake.

Dressel's latest triumph follows his previous gold medals in the 4x100m freestyle relay and the 100m freestyle. He is now poised to add to his medal count in the upcoming races, including the 50m freestyle and the 4x200m freestyle relay.
