Chronic Lung Disease Does Not Deter Director

David Lynch Reassures Fans, Not Retiring Despite Emphysema Diagnosis

Chronic Lung Disease Does Not Deter Director

David Lynch, the renowned filmmaker behind "Twin Peaks" and "Mulholland Drive," has reassured his fans that he has no plans to retire despite revealing that he has been diagnosed with emphysema, a chronic lung disease.

The 78-year-old director confirmed his diagnosis in a recent social media post, after initially disclosing it in a magazine interview. Lynch, who has been a heavy smoker for many years, said that he is managing his condition and is still able to work.

Limited In-Person Directing

However, Lynch admitted that his emphysema has limited his ability to direct in person. "I can't really direct in person anymore," he said in the interview. "I can't stand for long periods of time." Despite this, Lynch remains optimistic and is adapting to his condition's limitations.

Lynch's revelation has sparked concern among his fans, but he has expressed his determination to continue making films. "I'm not going to retire," he said. "I'm just going to do things a little differently."
